Some performances stay with you long after the final bow, and our French Soirée Cabaret Show at Bastille Festival Sydney was certainly one of them.
On Friday 17 July 2026, Aluminus Dance & Entertainment had the privilege of presenting our signature French-inspired production on the festival's Main Stage, celebrating the elegance, glamour and joie de vivre of Parisian cabaret in the heart of Sydney.
Although rain swept across the city throughout the evening, it did little to dampen the spirit of the festival. Guests embraced the weather, gathered beneath umbrellas and continued to enjoy the music, performances and vibrant atmosphere. Seeing so many people stay, cheer and celebrate despite the rain was incredibly rewarding and a testament to the wonderful energy that Bastille Festival brings to Sydney each year.
French Cabaret Entertainment at Bastille Festival Sydney
Our French Soirée Cabaret was created to transport audiences into the world of classic Parisian entertainment, blending live music, theatrical dance and spectacular costuming into one immersive experience.
The production featured captivating live vocals by Steffania, whose performances of La Vie en Rose, Feeling Good, Lady Marmalade and C'est Magnifique brought warmth, emotion and energy to the stage.
Joining her were four professional dancers, performing a vibrant collection of choreography inspired by the glamour of French cabaret. Throughout the show, audiences were treated to elegant Fan Dance, high-energy French Can Can, sophisticated Cabaret, playful Burlesque, and dazzling Parisian showgirl performances, each accompanied by handcrafted costumes designed to celebrate the timeless beauty of French entertainment.
Behind the Scenes of Our French Cabaret Sydney Production
Every Aluminus production begins long before the audience takes their seats.
Bringing the French Soirée Cabaret to life involved weeks of planning, rehearsals, choreography, costume creation and production preparation. Every piece of music, every costume change and every performance moment was carefully considered to create a seamless experience from beginning to end.
The production was conceived, produced, directed and choreographed by Aluminus Creative Director Natalie Bushett, who also designed and handcrafted many of the bespoke costumes featured throughout the show. From the first creative concepts through to the final performance, every detail was thoughtfully crafted to capture the romance, elegance and excitement of Parisian cabaret.
It's this dedication to original productions and attention to detail that allows Aluminus Dance & Entertainment to create entertainment experiences that are both visually striking and uniquely memorable.
Live French Cabaret, Can Can Dancers and Parisian Entertainment
As the lights came up, the audience was transported into a world of glamour, music and celebration.
From elegant fan choreography to energetic French Can Can routines and captivating cabaret performances, every act was met with enthusiastic applause. Despite the rain falling throughout the evening, audiences remained engaged, dancing, singing along and embracing the atmosphere that makes Bastille Festival Sydney such a unique celebration of French culture.
Performing outdoors in challenging weather reminded us exactly why we love live entertainment—it brings people together and creates unforgettable shared experiences.
Festival Entertainment in Sydney Beyond the Stage
One of the highlights of the evening came after the final bow.
Our cast remained on the festival grounds to meet audience members for photographs, conversations and plenty of smiles before making our way across to the Parisian Stage to continue the celebration.
